Samsung 850 Pro 128GB
The Samsung 850 Pro 128GB SSD provides a whopping performance boost over mechanical HDDs. I have one installed in a ... Dell Optiplex 990 MT i7-2600 3.4GHz 16GB DDR3-1333 (Intel Q67 chipset). Windows 10 Pro and apps are installed on the SSD. Time from power-on to active desktop with all icons is 16 sec. Time from shutdown command to power-off is 8 sec. Most apps launch in less than 2 sec. CPU-Z launches in 4.86 sec. The 850 Pro comes with a CD that includes a Windows migration app to seamlessly upgrade from your legacy OS to Windows 10. Samsung Magician (also on CD) allows tuning, management, performance, and optimization. One interesting performance spec on the 128GB model is Samsung's benchmark data for sequential READ (550 MB/s max) and WRITE (470 MB/s max). Samsung Magician reports READ -- 557 MB/s WRITE -- 512 MB/s performance on my SSD. I also have a Samsung 850 Pro 256GB SSD installed in a ... Dell Optiplex 9020 MT i5-4570 3.2GHz 20GB DDR3-1600 (Intel Q87 chipset). Benchmark reports READ -- 563 MB/s WRITE -- 527 MB/s. Both SSD's performance numbers exceed Samsung maximums for the particular model. Conclusion: Study the expert reviews carefully. Notice that both 850 Pro speeds sit at the high end of the SATA 3.0 (6 Gb/s) spec. If your motherboard only supports SATA 2.0 (3 Gb/s), it's going to bottleneck the 850 Pro. But, it will still outperform an HDD. Now is an excellent time to buy a Samsung 850 Pro while prices are still high. If you wait till prices drop, you'll be left in the dust by the "950 Pro NVMe (20 Gb/s) Series." Enjoy high-end technology today! Good price for product but why...
... did the cloning software tell me there wasn't enough space when I was cloning it as a back-up. The source and destination were both Samsung Pro 128GB SSD drives. Boot up was incredible.
I installed this drive not knowing what to expect. I used Macrium Reflect because I just wasn't too good with the 'Magician' UI. Macrium (free) is pretty simple. Once cloned the boot up and overall operation of my system is way faster. I have a few more computers and I intend to install this drive on each of them while mothballing the old drives as backups. This process will also help to future proof my systems as they are cutting edge and will be on top for a few years at least. Now if Samsung could improve its 'Magician' software that would be a major plus. Great Quality SSD

Samsung produces good SSD drives
