Fun, entertaining movie.
The Avengers series of films have been universally praised by young and old alike and Captain America - The Winter Soldier is really the best of the lot. Great characters, wonderful acting, exciting fight scenes, really fun entertainment. While it certainly can stand alone as great entertainment, I'd encourage anything considering this to reconsider and watch the other Marvel films that led up to this one. Great Fun - even Better if you see Cap America:The First Avenger first
I'd seen this in the theatrical run. Had only Liked it and hadn't seen it since. My gateway to The Avengers was Ironman - from the first film I was hooked on R B Downey Jr's pitch-perfect portrayal of that character. I hadn't been much of a Cap America fan - he's SUCH a straight-arrow ! So I'd treated the Captain America movies as asides to the Avengers storyline. But Marvel hasn't. The Winter Soldier is Great Fun on its own. Great Avengers tone. Having the Black Widow on board in a central role is always a Big help ! (when will she get her on movie vehicle, Marvel ?) PLUS, Cap - wait for it - Breaks The Rules !!! Does Not follow chain of command. The mystery through much of the movie is, Who the heck is the Winter Soldier ?? I won't be a spoiler here, so say no more. But this script is clearly based on a back story, and I didn't know it. I'd just gotten and seen Captain America:The First Avenger, which preceded this one. I'd never seen it before. It exceeded my expectations (which admittedly were modest), but that's where the backstory is laid out. So it Really adds depth to Winter Soldier if you see that first. Which is my recommendation. Avengers fans, do yourself a favor and include both of these in your library and in your list of Avengers movies. Placing value on slip covers...
As with most items of this type, valuation is strictly a function of personal preference. For instance, the placement of this slipcover on a completely new Winter Soldier set would raise the resale value greatly (from $30 to say $65+), particularly as time goes on, but likely not beyond the 1/2 - 3/4 price-point of a steelbook set. Other Marvel novelty slips are more difficult to find, or were actually offered on single-disc (Guardians of the Galaxy) Blu-ray packs, and not the preferred multiple disc+digital copy pack.Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Neu

The Empire Strikes Back of Marvel movies!
This is by far my favourite Marvel movie. It's got the best action sequences and fight scenes out of any Marvel movie. Of any of their Phase 2 movies this is the Empire Strikes Back of the franchise.
