Excellent creative potential and quality
Interested in exploring ambient music with my guitar and had been eyeing up the 'Big Sky' for some time. Saw some good reviews and demos and although not quite capturing the atmospheric variations of the Big Sky it offered similar switched holding patterns to create lingering effects. Only just scratching the surface of the programming possibilities and enjoying taking this further but if you are not into time consuming knob twiddling then this unit may not have the instant appeal of the Big Sky. However, the presets are very good and there is an option to run two independent effects on each of the stereo channels. It also runs on batteries, great for gigging The creative potential and quality of the RV-500 are excellent and no lingering doubts about the choice.
