Inspired by the March 2007 CGI film, TMNT takes the fearsome foursome through a series of acrobatic battles amidst the dark and gritty streets, sewers, subways, and rooftops of New York City. To faithfully capture each turtle's signature fighting moves and athletic prowess, developer Ubisoft Montreal designed the game with the same "Jade" graphics engine used in the acclaimed Prince of Persia series on home consoles. The heroes in a half-shell will confront enemies new and old, including the Foot Clan, the Purple Dragon Street Gang, and monstrous creatures loyal to the film's antagonist, Max Winters.<br><br>Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello, and Michelangelo are all playable, despite the combat-oriented action being strictly reserved for solo gamers. Each character offers an assortment of attacks using his trademarked weapon, from Raphael's Sai throw to Michelangelo's nunchuck face slap, and can block or evade impending blows. Navigating each level involves jumping from rooftop to rooftop, climbing buildings, diving into sewers, and more, with new areas unlocked by performing temporary tag-team moves with a computer-controlled character. Pretty Good TMNT title
Most of the game is about navigating the landscape of the city with a few footclan fights mixed in. Boss fights are pretty easy once you figure out the concept and the game is self is very forgiving for mistakes and save points. Great game for kids because of that. Game was very easy so if your looking for a challenge this is not it. The characters can get a bit annoying with constant voice overs throwing out your typical TMNT slang as you perform aerobatics and win fights. (remember Slippy from Starfox, not quite that bad). Underrated Turtles Game
TMNT is not the most challenging game but it does have some rather enjoyable moments. The combat will leave you wanting a bit more as attacking is relegated to a single button. This results in simple yet effective fighting from the turtles with more powerful attacks if you are able to go without taking a hit. The platforming sequences can present some difficult moments mostly do to the frustration of not timing your jumps just right. Using the turtles together is an important game play component that is required to complete certain segments such as long jumps. This gives the player incentive to switch through the four brothers and also test out their different fighting abilities. The best part of TMNT is the final grade you receive at the end of each level based on combat score, speed and the number of coins collected (plus score based on teamwork in later levels).
