I held off reading Sanderson for a long time, specifically in regards to the end of the Wheel of Time series, 'cause I thought no one could possibly do it justice after Robert Jordan died. It finally took a friend putting Sanderson's book in my hand and *ordering* me to finish the series. Once I started, I was hooked. I've since started on the Stormlight trilogy (of which this is the second book), and bought the first books of most of his other series. His world-building is exceptionally good, all without those really annoying 'info-dumps' that many other authors resort to, and his stories just make you want to read more and more. I have to consciously restrain myself from sitting down with this book at every opportunity and getting through it too quickly 'cause I know the next one isn't out yet. I would recommend this series to anyone who ever had even a passing interest in fantasy.
