Sturdy and reliable.
I used this to locate an underground cable. Had a little trouble figuring out the "code" setting and signal level. Wish the instructions were clearer on what conditions to use the different code. The signal level is very valuable because you can "see" as well as Hear when your directly "over" the cable. wish the receiver had a built in bubble level. that way you could use it while locating "directly above". and then tilt it at 45 degrees located the cable at 45 degrees. the difference between the to spots would be the depth. (right triangle to figure out the depth. using the pythagorean theorem)

No more service calls....self-sufficient
Used to trace the boundary wire for a Husqvarna Automower. Worked just fine. The instructions are a little lacking. But it is not too difficult to sort out. The bottom line is I paid less for this than the service call would have been. And I can use it again and again.

A Big Time Saver
This unit saved me many hours of digging to locate underground cables for my low voltage lighting system. I used only a fraction of the unit’s capabilities, but it served my purpose.

Dificult to trace cable.
I tried tracing a known direct buried cable. The tracer stopped signaling where the cable was known to be about 18 inches below 3 inches of concrete and the rest dirt. It would stop signaling with the wand about a foot above the surface. If you hold it still for about 10 seconds it would regain the signal for a time but then lose it again. Very frustrating. This was on a known cable. I'm not hopeful on an unknown cable.

What do I title this
Works much better than typical wire toners you do need to hook it up and adjust the settings but once you figure that out your in business

Fast wire finder
Worked great to find bad wires in the wall. Signal strength can be adjusted to focus on individual wires to avoid cross talk. As delivered, packing was rough but product was fine.

Powerful
The instruction manual is a bit hard to follow. But like a smart phone, the more you use it, the more you realize it's capabilities and learn what it can do.

Find something else...
For simple stuff it works... But for difficult searching, which is exactly why you need something like this, it's not very good... Marginal at best...

Instructions are poor. Cool display, but I couldn’t trace my under ground telephone wire despite numerous attempts
