Inclusive tutorial
You could get more in-depth details of each piece (in fact, this book recommends some). However this is great for teaching enough of each to pull in all together, and then goes into a real life example. Go for the latest revision to stay up to date available because things change at internet speed.

Good book for anyone who wants to get a good understanding of front end and back end development.
The contents are actually pretty good and it does a great job of explaining the concept of web development.

Extensive software reference, but dated edition./
The topic coverage is vast and informative, as typical of the O'Reilly reference texts. However, this edition is dated (2015) but was specifically identified as course material for my son's college course.
