out of four types of airlock lids: these are the most consistent &easiest to use. -tall airlock/water tubes: -cleaning issues were a pain "nipple tops": hard plastic lid with insertable silicone valve tip: good but: tip can fall out easily;silicone inserts for jar rings: -metal rings still corrode. these: they DO hold in quite well with 2 baffles/grippers.. if your brine is high,yes, there can be leakage, but that happens w/ any lid.
