Inspiring
Firstly, the outfits which the three main characters wear are fantastic. Any fan of early 1960's fashion should buy this movie for that alone. No idea how much 'Colored Computers' working for NASA at that time earned but probably not enough to buy these stylish and über-fashionable dresses ! OK - about the film: Inspirational movie about three women 'Colored Computers', i.e. when a 'computer' was a human being doing calculations as opposed to a beige box (although ironically nearly all PC's are now black !). These three black women were intelligent, funny - and were key to putting John Glenn into orbit. The main theme of this movie is how they overcome sexual prejudice ("A Female Engineer" !) and the racial segregation prevalent in Virginia in the 1960's Superb acting by the three principle actresses - Taraji P. Henson, Octavia Spencer and Janelle Monáe - and one of Costner's better roles. Highly recommendedBestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Neu

A hidden gem
I watched it after my son recommended it on good on a long haul flight. As we visited nasa it was very pertinent. Enjoyed it so much I wanted to get a copy to watch again. Very good value and arrived quickly. Will look for more films on eBayBestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Gebraucht

Hidden Figures - Hidden Gem

Its historical, enlightening and entertaining.
The story of racism in America in the 1960's. 3 very clever black girls achieved excellent school results and became Aeronautical engineers. The were employed by the Space Station but kept in an office out of the way because of their colour. One girl in particular calculated all the figures and plans for a particular space mission. Great film!

Women power versus space technology
This is an amazing film based on fact. The story revolves around three very strong African American females in the sixties working at NASA. There was still strong segregation at this time but these ladies were exceptionally talented and helped significantly in the space race. A true story that is totally out of this world.

Great film!
This story needed telling. These women were amazingly gifted at a time when women were not valued in the workplace as much as a man. Never mind a woman of colour.
