First of all, I want everyone to know that when I rate the "GOOD", it is JUST THAT! To me, an excellent rating would mean that I LOVE EACH and EVERY track from beginning to end! Though this release is a GREAT album, it does have one or two duds. I love Duran Duran, and really didn't appreciate their artistic style until I was a little older. The artistic style of this CD follows more of the current times with just enough Duran Duran flair to be unmistakable and a must own for true fans. The two HITS on this CD are Ordinary World & Come Undone, and in my opinion, both are great tracks! I think I listened to both tracks about 10 times per day when I broke up with my girlfriend at the time! Both songs have a somber yet promising feel. The rest of the CD has an interesting sound. It explores styles that were surprising to me Duran Duran would try. The good news, they do it well! One song even reminds me of a PRINCE song! (Shotgun) In conclusion, this is a good CD that would compliment any collection. Make it part of yours!Vollständige Rezension lesen
Duran Duran had slowly been sliding into obscurity since the breakup of the original five members after Seven and the Ragged Tiger. With Duran Duran (The Wedding Album), they clearly figured out a sound that worked with Simon Le Bon, John Taylor, Nick Rhodes, and newly-solidified-lineup member Warren Cuccurullo from Missing Persons. The sound, while no longer New Romantic, was finely crafted and polished, producing two US Top Ten hits and, with "Too Much Information", a third song that was certainly worthy of that status but clearly wasn't what fans expected to hear. If the reformed original five's later Astronaut offering had had the same production value and polish, there would likely have been the same kind of singles success for that album as well.

I had this album years ago and played it until I warped it so I’m glad I found a new one.

The Wedding Album is excellent, even with a couple of flat tracks (so many bands seem to have filler songs that they like but lack being either catchy or artistic). Having listened to D2 for over 20 years now, I respect their diverse abilities and penchant for trying out new sounds.
I love everything about this band!! I am 37 years old and have followed them since they hit the U.S. in 1980!! They are without a doubt the best band of all time. They are great! I love Simon LeBon.
