Best WWII Movie Ever
Cross of Iron is the best WWII movie ever made. It presents the German soldiers view after the defeats of Leningrad and Stalingrad as the German army is in retreat from Russia. James Colburn's portrait of Sargent Steiner is epic as he deals with a Aristocratic Captain seeking glory for his own personal gains. An underrated Peckinpah film

The German Side of WWII
Sam Peckinpah did a great job in showing how disgusted the every day German foot soldier felt toward their officers, and their forced retreat from Russia.
