A great book
I first read this as an 11 year old, and as i approach 73 thought it would be nice to revisit the story, I was so fortunate to meet a very good friend of the author having lunch with him in Khon Kean Thailand, he smiled at the memory of throwing grates out of an aircraft piloted by the author. One of the best.
One of the best books I've read regarding a fighter pilot's personal experience of WWII. From the fall of France to the end. Clostermann writes clearly of his experiences including combat, kills, the enemy, fear and triumphs. An honest and enthralling memoir.Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Gebraucht

Amazing story
Bought this because my uncle flew with the very famous author in 56 Squadron flying Hawker Tempest V's in March/ April 1945. My uncle is mentioned by name a number of times and the sorties he flew with Clostermann are described in detail. It's a very candid diary of his experiences with amazing insights in to the experience of being a fighter pilot in WW2.Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Gebraucht
