New school Mongoose
The quality of this bike is really nice. I've had Mongoose bikes from the 70's. Although it's made in China, (like how difficult would this have been to been made in USA?) the welds and frame are strong. Can't tell how good the bearings are, the forks had to be loosened up a little that when you turn the handle bar, you could feel the stress on the bearings. Wish it would have come with a Bendix brake as that's what most Mongoose had back then. But it compares really nice to my old school Mongoose. I think I paid too much as the prices seem to be coming down so for $270, I think that price is a better value than the $460 I paid. My wife even commented on how nice of a bike it is. Time will tell on how it holds up. Not sure if I can jump it over garbage cans like I could my old one ;-).
