Gamers return to the Warring States period of China and head into intense battles with more than 50 playable characters in Samurai Warriors 4. As always, players hack and slash their way through hordes of foes, but now they have new options like Hyper Attacks, which let them close large distances quickly, and Rage mode, which increases the power of attacks once the Spirit Gauge is full. The Story mode splits the action between regional tales starring various officers, and the unification stories that illuminate the Warring States era, and both narratives highlight complicated factions.<br><br>The new Chronicle mode sends gamers to Japan on a variety of quests to meet new officers and collect unique items. Samurai Warriors 4 features an updated Create Character system so players can design custom officers, and it also offers cross-save functionality between the PS4, PS3, and Vita.
