Reconstruction has its pitfalls in both North and South constructs. The author reveals a history not found in textbooks.
I find the reading highly prized for any student of history.

The definitive book?
I am impressed by the volume of information, and easy reading of all of it. I may retain some information about the reconstruction South after this.
