NotesCaterina Valente "In London" presents twenty swinging up-tempo numbers along with moody and sensitive interpretations of lounge-jazz tracks. These were recorded in 1963 at the London Decca Studios with an orchestra of up to 30 musicians under the direction of UK conductor Johnny Keating. Keating had made a name for himself with compositions for Percy Faith, André Previn, Stan Keaton, Nancy Wilson and Shirley Horn, among others. His arrangements were performed by artists such as Bing Crosby and Sammy Davis Jr..

Caterina in Top Form.
This 1963 CD recorded in London is Caterina's best with her voice and song selection absolutely spot-on. The orchestral arrangements by Johnny Keating are right up there with the best from Nelson Riddle, Billy May, Johnny Mandel and anyone else you care to name.
