Easy to set up and use
The tablet was easy to set up and use. It is small enough so that I can hold it on my lap if I choose while I am working. It is also small enough that it does not take up a lot of desk space when I am not using it. There can be a bit of a lag when it is not plugged in, but not enough to make me want to switch back to the mouse.
The buttons are easily customized. The pen is a much more natural feeling way to move the cursor around than is a mouse.
While I am still getting used to it, it doesn't seem like it is going to be terribly difficult to make that adjustment. I very much like it that I can change the area of the drawing field to match the space my brain thinks there should be to move the pen between point A and point B. The starting area of that field is at least a third more than the size to which I have it adjusted now. I had worried before I made the purchase that it might be too small and that is simply not the case.
The feel of the plastic nib is a bit odd compared to a pen. I tried the other type of nib that was included but found it unpleasant. I have read that one may purchase a separate surface sheet to change the feel of the surface and I may try that - but probably not as the regular nibs are not giving me any trouble.
I am still playing around a bit with the pressure sensitivity and am not sure what I think of it as my primary reason for getting the tablet was to use it for photo editing. I think I would find it to be a lot more interesting/useful were I using the tablet to draw things. My opinion may change as I finish my current projects and move into photos that might benefit from subtle touches of light and shadow here and there, but I haven't tried a lot of that yet.
It is really quite, quite good at turning written words into text. I have switched between cursive and printed letters with ease. It does get a bit confused with more generous calligraphic types of embellishments on letters but I suspect that would get better if I did more of it. It is a lot of fun to play with the different pen settings in a writing/art program like Paint.
