Runs like a new SSD!
Looks, installs, and runs like a brand new one. I installed this one in my Girlfriends PC. It was just what she needed. Got rid of that old mechanical drive. What a big difference it makes. It used to take up to 2 minutes before, to boot up. Now it takes about 10 to 15 seconds. She's gonna be so happy.....she'll have puppies. lol. I have tried tested and used three different brands of SSD and I find Samsung to be the best.
I have installed 5 Samsung 500GB SSDs in PCs, three EVO 850 and two EVO 860 all worked well with no problems and using the software from Samsung it is very easy to clone the drive. I had problems with the other two manufacturers products.Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Gebraucht

Huge performance increase from this SSD.
First off, two things. 1-My desktop computer was an ideal candidate for this upgrade, and, 2-Any SSD is going to provide less storage capacity and cost more than a mechanical hard drive. Prices for hard drives have fallen so far that I was able to buy a 2 terabyte hard drive for just $43 eight months ago here on eBay. The EVO 860 is 500 gigabytes and cost $150. However, I am what is known as a power user, and the mechanical hard drive was unable to perform the many tasks I assign to it simultaneously at an acceptable speed. Installing the EVO 860 cut boot times from 2 minutes to 30 seconds. More importantly, the computer was ready to run programs just 15 seconds after the desktop appeared. The mechanical hard drive required 15 minutes to get ready. Also, the mechanical hard would slow down each time I opened an application, to the point where if I had 5 apps running at the same time, it would bog down to the point of being immobilized. The EVO 860 can run many apps at one with no noticeable slowdown. The EVO 860 is also built using the very latest in chip technology, and promises an extremely long service life, at least 10 times that of a mechanical hard drive. The difference in speed is amazing, but be patient, it took about 6 reboots before the computer reached its maximum speed. I hope this helps.Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Neu

My first experience getting an SSD
Bought this for my dad, to upgrade from his 250 kingston ssd (which was also great), for more space. Used the samsung migration software, worked like a charm. I also bought this for myself weeks before, and experimented using both the samsung software and the AOMEI Partition Assistant, for more tools. One of the best
It is a Samsung SSD, worth the extra money just for the peace of mind. Never had 1 fail on me yet, but those HP pro 512gb SSD have failed as soon as day 1. Stay away from HP branded SSD unless you do not care about loosing your time, money and data.Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Gebraucht

Samsung 860 EVO SSD GREAT
The drive is very fast. Using Samsungs Migration software it cloned in about an hour. Installed very easily in my Toshiba L75D laptop. This the second SSD I have purchasd in the past 6 months. The first was not a Samsung and I had to carry it to a computer tech to get it cloned. Using Samsungs Migration software it was a snapI recievred it in the mail about 1:30 today an it is cloned an running in my laptop at about 6:30 pm. Awesome

Excellent SSD
I replaced the hard drive in my wife's laptop that was failing with this SSD. With a USB to SATA cable adapter, it was super easy to clone the hard drive to the SSD using the Samsung data transfer software (a free download from the Samsung website). However, on our slow computer, it took over 10 hours to transfer all the data so I ran the software over night. After the transfer, it took just a few minutes to replace the hard drive with the SSD and reboot the computer. It worked perfectly and it's significantly faster than the hard drive in reading and writing data. If you need to speed up a computer, the most recommended upgrade in the past used to be to add more RAM. Samsung EVO SSD is the best

New life for my laptop
Like many people I’ve set up my laptop with a fast system SSD and a big hard drive for storage. But the 250GB Western Digital Blue drive I had was both a system bottleneck and getting cramped. I replaced it with this 500GB unit and my laptop woke up! Everything is quicker now from startup to shutdown. You just don’t realize how fast a computer is till you remove all the delays.
