The HP8116A still commands high values for a reason: it packs the advanced pulse generator capability of the HP 8112 (itself a reference in vintage lab pulse generators) together with a sine and triangle wave function generator up to 50 MHz in a very small package. When it works, it's a great lab instrument, with immense triggering and setup versatility. Beware though that when it doesn't, and unlike the 8112, it might be very hard or impossible to repair. The reason is that the core of the machine is embedded in 3 custom hybrid integrated circuits that cannot be found anymore. And they do go bad. Compact, versatile, and easy to use.

Surprise
I received the unit and proceeded to test it I found out that the unit works. The problem is if you have wrong settings you will get an error message these are conditions that are not supported by the unit because they don't make sense.Bestätigter Kauf: Ja
