Great Player & Features Once Past Setup
Great player, picture clarity, and easy to use features - after frustrating wireless set up process. I can summarize the manual "Try this, and call your internet service provider if this doesn't work". Well, I didn't (call ISP), because I felt -and still do -that a consumer ready product should be plug and play without a lot of customer fiddling. And the "Oh, well -must be your ISP's router doesn't match our settings" attitude is ridiculous. My "solution"? Wife got tired of my days of fiddling and insisted we watch a DVD. Miraculously, all the wireless features came to life afterward. Works great now. Ignore the instructions (largely), make sure it shows internet- whether or not you can make it load apps, plug in a DVD. Enjoy the movie, then select your apps.

Works great with the remote, BUT,...
I generally love this Blu-Ray player. It's compact and has minimal exterior features. The Wi-Fi works great and access to all of the functions with the remote appears easy enough. I had some issues initially understanding the operation of the unit. But, I went online to download the manual, which explained the functions adequately. My only real issue with the player is that it works great with the remote, but, accessing all of the functions without the remote and simply relying on the well-hidden markers on the player itself is challenging at best. Overall, though, great player at a great price.

The Blu-ray Player was delivered in very good tie, it was easy to set-up, easy to use and has good picture quality. I would purchase again.

Terrific (with an asterisk*)
I believed, from my own lack of knowledge on the subject, that this otherwise terrific machine would play my 4k UHD dvd discs, which it does NOT do; rather, it "up-scales" the signal it receives (say, SD or HD) to UHD and does an amazing job of it. So, if you're looking for excellent playback capabilities in an almost impossibly easy to use machine, look no futher If you need a machine that WILL play your 4k UHD dvd discs, keep looking. I am.

Good player with easy to use interface.
Not sure if it is a glitch with this player or design flaw but after powering on initially it seems to restart shortly after starting an app if there is a disc in the player.

Choose - Samsung BD-H6500 vs. BD-J7500
BD-H6500 (2014 model) versus BD-J7500 (2015 model) BD-H6500 may be the best choice 1) Considerably lower price 2) Same user features, i. e., 3D, UHD passthrough & upscaling, etc. 3) BD-6500 has excellent reviews 4) Both have dual core processors for fast load speed Major consideration is in your current entertainment system: 1) BD-J7500 is a better choice for those with older HDTV's that do not have 4K UHD pass-thru as it includes (2) HDMI out. That allows connecting (1) to the HDTV and the second to an older HDMI equipped audio receiver to achieve digital audio pass-thru It also includes 7.1 analog connections for older style audio receivers. 2) BD-H6500 is a less expensive choice for those with new 4K UHD pass-through capable HDTV's as only one HDMI is required to handle the same audio & video signals that the BD-J7500 offers with its second HDMI & 7.1 analog connections. Bottom line - know your HDTV & audio receiver capabities before making a choice. The BD-H6500 is a great Blu Ray Player & my choice as I have a new 4K HDTV & the newest style audio receiver.

OK...But
4k DVD upgrading to 4k Samsung TV is a significant improvement over previous Sony BluRay unit. However it seems cheaply made and top mounted controls are not visible or user friendly. Do the people who design these things ever use them outside the lab?

Scratched up
The blu-ray works just fine and easy to use, but as it was used, it was all scratched up and didn't look very nice. If I new it'd be scratched up, I should've just spent the extra $20 on a brand new one so it'd look a little better, but otherwise, it's been a good machine

Samsung BD-H6500 Blue Ray DVD player
Sleek space saver. Smaller than my previous DVD player. Following on screen instructions for set up was easy. Picture quality is excellent and there is a good variety of apps that are provided. Player is set up to work with a Samsung TV and a Samsung sound bar that is connected to the Blue Ray player by an optical cable.

Does the job
I purchased this unit for a specific task. I wanted to capture YouTube videos on my tablet via TubeMate on my tablet, archive those videos on a usb flash drive, & play those videos on my home theatre system. That required a unit that can recognize the flash device, play mp4 encoded sources, & it must have HDMI & optical digital audio outputs.
