Sharper Than New
I bought this to sharpen a set of 10 year old Global knives. It took a few minutes with each knife to get the edge back, a few stropping passes and the knives are sharper now than when they were new. It can also sharpen European and American knives and even traditional single edge Japanese knives, so very versatile too. Can’t be used to sharpen scissors or anything other than knives, so keep that in mind if you need a sharpener that can do that. Easy and safe to use, not too noisy and does exactly what you would expect, without hassle or fuss. Although it is pricey, it appears to be well made and that it could last many years. Very happy with the purchase and I recommend it.

The best in it's category
Lets start with it is overpriced but even this way is worth it. A few design issues, since dragging a knife over a plastic base will end up destroying the case. A nylon roller attachment would be perhaps a more elegant alternative. The 15º area is really good at dealing with my traditional Japanese knives and Thai clever. On the 20º area wusthof, tramontina, mundial and vitorianox knives took from 8 to 10 passes (left+right) to get it sharp BUT it did. 3rd stage honing is the weakest of the 3 since I continue to use my honing steel, BUT it is a LOT BETTER than using sharpening stones and angle guides. Conclusion: Great buy

Brilliant. well worth the money.
The Chef's Choice 1520 electric knife sharpener brought my Scan Pan knives up super sharp. Sharper than when they were new. I sharpened 8 knives in one evening while I was watching tv. Its very easy to use. And now they are as sharp as they should be it only takes a few seconds to keep them that way.

Razor sharp quality
If you have 15* blades (or want them) this is the sharpener to get. Offering 15 and 20 as well as a double 15/20 your knives will be sharper than when you first purchased them. Read instruction book through first! Take your time and you will be rewarded.

Now sharp.
This is the only sharpener that worked on my hard steel kitchen carving knife. All my other knives are now very sharp and a pleasure to use.

Enough to shave hair
The product is easy to use and definitely sharpens the blades so that you can shave hair off your arm.

Professional Results
Such a great machine. Had it for a couple of years and only needed to use it 3 times so far. Very pleased with results on all my (good quality) knives.It'spricey but hopefully will pay for itself in a few years of use. No need to have knives professionally sharpened anymore.
