It's an extremely versatile device
At first I suspected the device was defective as it would not run on my Windows 7 (64 bit) operating system after installing the modified drivers for SDR# software. However when I installed another SSD loaded with the same system it worked! and also worked with another SSD loaded with Windows 10 (64bit) Had I not had this option I would have been asking for a return. My laptop on the other hand will not even run the SDR# software, it's an oldish Dell Core2 duo with poor graphics card, so that might be the problem there. Anyway, with the afore mentioned software it makes for a great UHF HF receiver. I have since purchased another (identical) device for half the price I paid here. I suggest you look around for a better priced unit.

NooElec SDR for radio fun
This is a great way to get into software defined radio at low cost. It’s probably best to watch a video before installing the software. There are several free packages available but one didn’t work for me. I found Sharp and HDSDR to be fine. Be advised that you need to put up an aerial if you want to do any serious listening.

Great starter kit for SDR - also ideal for 'on the go' radio.
This is a great product to get started with SDR, the antenna that comes with the product is not great, but can be replaced - however, you will need adapters for this which will need to be purchased separately. Overall performance is what you can expect from a product that is not a dedicated SDR solution, but rather was intended to be used as a DVB-T receiver (which you can still do). Tested in both Linux and on Android and works great for SDR, FM and DAB, as well as DVB-T/T2.
