Sturdy footswitch
The 632S Clipper foot switch is a little workhorse. It is built very well in what looks like a cast aluminum body and has real heft to it. There is a solid pin through design that keeps the pedal attached to the body. On the bottom is a thin steel plate that offers a tight but not waterproof seal.
The switch itself is very heavy duty and offers momentary Normally closed or Normally open contacts with big screws. Long lasting switch, no junk here.
This is built like old-school American products used to be, overkill (products that last a lifetime). Just replace the cord every few years if rubber, as they deteriorate.
We use it in a TV station for timing segments, so it's used for low current application and gets MASHED hundreds of times a day. It could possibly be used for an audio signal as the entire unit offers good shielding.
It is wise to oil the pin once a year, it will extend the life of the unit.
The switch is heavy duty enough to run a small motor, like a sewing machine or a small 1/4 or 1/3 HP motor in a drill press.
They typically last a few years the way we use them. If it were used in a home environment, it would last many, many years providing it is not sitting on a damp floor.
