Still a great card in 2017
This was the flagship card in 2014 and currently performs at around the level of the 6GB GTX 1060, however it does have a smaller frame buffer (4GB of GDDR5). In addition though, the VRAM is faster even though it is clocked at a slower speed due to the wider bus, so that should generally make up for it even in heavy workloads. This card still performs extremely well, especially when paired with a decent CPU at 1080p, even with everything pretty much maxed. Especially with the GPU shortage going on right now at the time of writing this review, if you're looking for a decent card that will perform in the mid-range segment, this is a great alternative if you can find it for sub-300 dollars with any cooler. Speaking of which, the cooler for this is pretty good considering it's a dual fan cooler, can get a bit loud when the fans are fully ramped up, but it definitely does its job at keeping the GPU cool. Also, since for some stupid reason ebay will not include this in the details, it has an 8-pin and a 6-pin PCI power connector on this version of the card, so keep that in mind when installing into your system, since it is older, it does take some more juice, plus, NVIDIA may not choose to keep DX12 and Vulkan Optimizations up as well as the GTX 1060, so there's that to consider too. Other than that though, I highly recommend this card right now given the GPU shortage, it should not disappoint.
