On early Dyson DC15′s, this little tube sits at the top of the wand and it is the bit you fit your tools onto. Dyson DC15 Ball Wand Top Collar. On later DC15′s, Dyson redesigned the wand to do away with the two-part wand collar (tube grip) and made it integral.

An OK Dyson DC15 wand tip
The product is an aftermarket one as no longer available from Dyson. The main part is well made and fits well into the tube but the retaining clip is quite poor as the two ends don't quite fit when installed and both ends stick out a little. It still seems to hold in OK but main worry is that if it gets caught during use repeatedly it may break as quite thin plastic. I don't know if they are all like this or I was just unlucky as the picture shows the clip flush. A bit disappointed but little choice out there with manufacturer not producing the part any longer

Replacement part
It needed the slots where the retaining clip fits in place opening up because they did not quite align with original placement on the wand. It's all OK now but it was a little annoying.

Excellent, fits perfectly
With a firm push it fits my Dyson 15 perfectly and all the holes lined up so I can now use the Dyson attachments (the original wand top collar had worn away)
