Recommended - Same functionality as the original APC cable for a much more reasonable price
I purchased this for my Smart UPS 3000 RM2U, because the original APC 9827 Signalling Cable costs five times more and I just didn't get the point of spending 50 Euros on a simple cable. I searched on the Internet and came across this piece of cable at a decent price point. It has the same pinout as the original (RJ50 -- USB) and is electrically identical. NOTE: While this connector looks like an ordinary RJ45 (8 pins), it is a RJ50 (10 pins) connector. This is just another countermeasure of APC to make building your own cable as hard as possible. It works out of the box and I can definitely recommend it. While the cable has a ferrite core/choke on both endings, it is quite thin so there can't be that much shielding.
