Works well in both modes.
I love being able to set a channel and come back when I need it. Getting the delay and chorus just right is a lot of knob turning and having those presets at my feet is amazing. The footswitch is well thought out and properly sized without being bulky. In 4 chan mode one can even turn on and off the modulation delay and boost as well as change the channels! I love this thing and I bought it used.

H&K FSM-432: Built like a brick ----house and takes orders like a short order cook.
H&K makes fantastic stuff..the FSM-432 is built to last & has as much programmability as you could want.
