More metal than I was expecting, as good as the Dinky Merryweather
I am really impressed by this fire engine, its right up there with the Dinky Merryweather. I had the Merry Weather as I child for my 6th birthday, but I never got to see one of these corgi chevy truck ones. Firstly the base and the front grill are metal, the two I have are in good shape, but due to the strong construction, I bet most survived being played with, but there does not seem to be a whole lot of them available to buy. The middle panel on the roof lifts up and underneath is one slimline bulb and through clever use of plastic as a prism, it lights both lights on the front cab, the siren is quite annoying and sounds like a modern day fire alarm, but I guess thats the point. I am lucky that one of the battery system survived on these two trucks, but due to play I guess a lot dont and the replacement bulbs are not easy to find. I have bought two, but we will have to see when they come if they are right, as the original one had no markings. A great truck, you could not find anything of the same quality made today, I am glad I took the chance and bought them.
