Jackie Brown is an underrated classic from Tarantino! 4.25-5 stars!
Coming off the incredibly popular and influential film Pulp Fiction...Tarantino is back in the saddle with his third outing, Jackie Brown! This film often gets overlooked by other Tarantino classics such as Reservoir Dogs and Inglorious Basterds, but in my opinion it is right up near the top as one of his best! Jackie Brown is Tarantino's most mature film because everything about it feels very real. The characters, dialogue and the performances from the three leads (Grier, Forster, Jackson) keep this film grounded and pulls the audience in. Grier and Forster have a wonderful chemistry together and Jackson is back in fine form with another excellent performance as Ordell. Robert Deniro even steps out of the norm and gives a funny and memorable performance as Jackson's dim witted partner Louis. Overall if you are a fan of Tarantino's work, you should definitely check this one out. It moves at a slower pace than some of his other work but hang in there and give it a shot...this film gets better with each viewing!
