I got this tent for burning man out in the desert where the dust is just insane. This tent did amazingly well in the extreme heat and cold. During the days it kept fairly cool as long as you had ventilation and during the nights warm if sealed. The stakes are pretty heavy duty and work really well. Stood up to the high winds and did pretty well keeping a majority of the dust out. Overall this is one great tent and well worth the money.
I have wanted one of these for several years. I finally bought one. I actually have not used it yet for camping. I did set it up (10 minutes) first time while reading directions. Next time will only be 5 minutes. It is so easy. I am a 71 year old man going on 30. It is only aprox 50 pounds. So it is no problem for me to handle or set up alone. Prior to purchase I had read many reviews. I had never read anything but positive reviews giving the tent praise. The workmanship is of the highest quality. The materials are of high quality. As per directions I set it up and sprayed it with water and let it dry. This is to prime the canvas and shrink the stitching needle holes. I had no leaks. I soaked it good too, It is cold and wet here now in East Tennessee. I can hardly wait to go camping and trout fishing. I feel sure that with care This tent will last longer than me. Now, I have the dilemma of who to leave it to in my will. From all that I have read, I don't expect any problems. Not a backpacking tent.
This is exactly what I was looking for! I hunt in extreme cold and wet. The Kodiak 4 person tent is easy to set up, roomy and keeps my gear dry! Love the tent!
