Great Brand and Great Value with Good Sound and Good features
Arrived like new and worked right out of the box. Good sound for an entry level A/V receiver and good features. A well respected brand that I have had in the past and been pleased. At this price, direct from Onkyo with a 2yr warranty you cant go wrong

Item did not come with a remote, but the description says it would come with all accessories. I have been unable to get the CBL/SAT HDMI port to play
Item did not come with a remote, but the description says it would come with all accessories. I have been unable to get the CBL/SAT HDMI port to play audio, thankfully I only need one port to work. Cosmetically the receiver is in good shape and the BD/DVD port works great.

Excellent Connection for Surround Sound System
Learned a lot about surround sound systems recently and found that the amp/receiver is the key to success IF it (1) has the connections needed; (2) has the necessary power; and (3) gives you the capability to adjust and fine tune the performance of each speaker separately. This Onkyo unit scores on all three. Connected a Klipsch Reference Theater Pack 5.1 Surround Sound System and couldn't be happier with the results. (I read some of the older reviews about surround sound installations after I placed my order and have to say I was a little apprehensive. However, we had absolutely no issues. Everything connected and worked on the first try.) The feature I found most helpful was being able to adjust the levels and tones of each speaker, separately, with the remote. Adjustments were easy to make and fully visible on the TV screen. In addition, synching the sound to the lips of people talking was easily adjusted as well. And once fixed, it was spot on for any and all inputs. Power never an issue: the loudest we've had the sound is 54 out of 100. Very happy with this Onkyo receiver and the fact that we saved about $250 compared to the cost of a brand new unit. My wife and I both get more enjoyment out of watching movies and TV with sound that's clearer and stronger and surrounding us.

Nice pick up
This is a very nice budget reciever. I believe it competes nicely with anything in the next bracket up. It was shipped immediately and showed up on time and expertly packed. Set up was a breeze and everything works as expected. I am very pleased and would recommend it to anyone that is setting up a 5.2system on a budget. The bluetooth connection works really well also.

Very good HT for the price point
Very easy to set up and calibrate. Needed to raise center channel gain to better hear soft dialogs. Perfect for my smaller space. All Polk Audio speakers and Sony 8" sub.

Sound check
This is an awesome system. I upgraded from an older model that I have had for many years. I love Onkyo systems and this one blew my mind once connected. Sound is fantastic. The auto sound check makes it easy and the performance is exacting. HDMI connection produces a perfect picture and sound. I highly recommend this model.

Not a great start.
I gave this as a christmas gift son was super excited went and hooked it all up and nothing worked came up with a thermal error then shut down. Tried to reset unit no change so I took it back to best buy and I ended up with the same receiver at a 43.00 dollar cost increase which for now works ok. Bottom line is best buy took care of the issue but it came with a premium.
