5 microns is fine for me.
Not for well water,but I have a galvanized supply line to my house. They do rust,internally. I was getting *clogs *in my shower heads and faucets,so this will help a lot. There are finer filter ones,but that is not my concern. Just the larger particles will be enough to filter out the stuff.
