RCA Power LIne Monitor
This device plugs into a wall outlet and measures line voltage. It's about 4 inches wide by 3inches tall. That makes it easy to read at a glance or at a distance. Handy in areas where you may have wide voltage variations as the day progresses. I have been in places where the line voltage might be as high as 130 vac in the early moring and sag to as low as 85 volts in the late afternoon because of air conditioning demands. Also handy when you have an adjustable ac voltage source and need a quick and easy way of reading what voltage you have. I repair old radios for a hobby, and find a variac ( variable transformer) to be an invaluable tool for easing radios back into life that haven't seen usage in 20-30 years. Its an old TV shop trick for determining if expensive components have solved the problem or if they were merely a victim and will quickly fail again as the original problem is still there. But variacs don't usually come with a voltmeter or its small (hard to read) or of questionable accuracy. You could use a cheap digital voltmeter, but again it usually has a small readout which can be hard to read depending on viewing angle and lighting. RCA Pwr Line Meter WV-120A
I have always needed an analog line voltage indicator. I had a digital one but the SMPS caused hash on my HF radio. This RCA meter is just the item I needed. I missed out on a Heathkit analog one a while back but glad that I saw this item. Shipping was quick and packed well. Cool!
I have 3 of these meters, so that I can monitor the line voltage in our studio. Since they use an analog meter, it is easy to see line fluctuations. RCA WV-120A Power Line Voltage Monitor: Useful Piece of Vintage Equipment

Be careful.
