Easy to use
Once you get the hang of it, this is easy to use. My issue was understanding that the edge of the mat cutter itself lines with the straightedge you are using. Also, by reading the Logan website I found that using a under mat helps keep the blades sharp.

LOGAN Deluxe Pull Style Mat Cutter 4000
Excellent product. I like the fact that the blade retracts when you're not using the cutter. The construction is durable and the start and stop reference mark makes it much easier to avoid over cutting. Since I have a Logan Mat Cutter I ordered the Logan Mat Cutter Nylon Guides for this cutter. They enable the cutter to ride on the Mat Cutter guide so that I don't have to concentrate on keeping the cutter against the edge. My cuts are perfectly straight now. I would recommand this cutter to friends and family.

Great price, but not for beginners who are learning how to cut mats
Great price, but because I did not realize that you have to have a board to set the stops when making your mat, I am unable to use it. Unfortunately, it is nonreturnable, so I just threw away $20.00...very disappointed. For those wishing to purchase a mat cutter, you must have a long board that attaches to this mat cutter with stops or you will not be able to use it. This type of cutter is for very advanced mat cutters...I am taking a class, learning the basics of mat cutting and was advised by my instructor that I needed to get the $100.00 type of cutter.

very esay
Tried to cut free hand but could never maintain angle. with this, after a few trial runs, works perfectly. very easy to start and stop, with google d control on pull stroke.

the item was fine, this is an older version than the one I had, and the action was a little sticky, but i loosened the mounting nut and it was fine. N

Plan before cutting
For best results clamp a straight edge for a good straight cut. Go slow and use a sharp blade and it works great.

accurate and simple to use
This is an older model of a good product. Being older only means it's made of metal instead of plastic. It will last a long time. The only thing that could be better is the built in ruler. It's a little off but knowing that it 's a an easy adjustment.

Easy to use and precise
The Logan Pull Style Mat Cutter definetly works as promised. Much easier to use than the older foamcord cutter. More precise.

Flawless
For those of you who want a “pull” style cutter, and still use the 30” pro cutting board with the 2000 series “push” cutter, purchase this cutter and then transfer your rail arms over to this one and it works flawlessly.
