Reliable and economical...
I’ve purchased several of these over the years, not because they break down but because I give them as gifts and have one in almost every room of the house! They are very reliable, the oldest version of this clock I own, is over 15 years old and still working! They may not look very appealing to the wife (mine is not too happy about the silver and black design, and the fact that it doesn’t match anything in the house!), in fact they could make a more house friendly version, I think they are mainly meant for offices. However, the time updates itself with the atomic clock in Rugby and is always accurate to the second. The calendar and Thermometer are an added useful bonus and the ‘Smartlite’ feature means that you can read the display any time of day, even with the lights out in a pitch black room! The background light comes on automatically when the room darkens and slowly gets brighter according to the darkness of the room. It is not super bright, it won’t light up the room or anything but it is just bright enough to be able to read the display and be economical enough so that you don’t have to change the batteries every week! In fact, the batteries last for around 3-6 months depending on how dark your room gets and how much the smartlite has to brighten to illuminate the display. Use good Alkaline batteries for maximum usage time, don’t even bother with rechargeable ones or cheap £1 shop bought cells, you will just be changing them every few weeks. Overall, a good buy, I’ve tried other makes or radio controlled clocks , both mains powered and battery operated but if you want a good, reliable, economical clock that you can read without having to press a button for the backlight, this is the one for you! It’s wall mountable or desktop freestanding and about 7”x5” in size (approx).

compact and wall mountable.
I bought this clock because I can hang it on the wall, it is battery powered and it glows at night it has a large display so it is easy to see.

A great wallclock
This is simply a great wall clock. It was exactly what I wanted (although not really bothered about the moon phases). It's set up is child like easy, just put the batteries in and it does it itself. I like the backlight sensor which works perfectly. I walk into my kitchen and don't need the light to see the time. What more can you want in a clock. I expect it to re-set itself for summer & winter time and never have to do any more except maybe change the batteries. it recommends doing this annually and why not. Very pleased with my purchase

The light works
The auto light dose come on at night and it not too bright. A good clear screen with the date the right way around.
