This collection of a half-dozen films that transpire in the universe of the X-MEN includes X-MEN, X2: X-MEN UNITED, X-MEN THE LAST STAND, X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE, X-MEN: FIRST CLASS, and THE WOLVERINE.
A convenient way to get all the (early) X-Men movies
If you like the X-Men in general, and Wolverine in particular, having all the (early) X-Men movies would seem to be desirable. Here they are all, minus the 2 latest ones. Most of them are quite entertaining, although the last two are a bit weaker than the first 4 (by chronology, not release date). "The Last Stand" kills off major characters, one of whom pops up again in "Days of Future Past" (not included in this collection) without explanation of how they became alive again. And "The Wolverine" has so many concepts which are contrary to the existing "rules" of the series or are just plain silly, that it detracts from enjoyment of the movie.
The packaging is compact and quite nice.
All in all, if you want all the X-Men movies (and who doesn't :-) ), this is a convenient way to get the early ones. If you speak French and want the subtitles, this will not work for you.
As a collection of movies, this is really good. As a Bilingual package, it is so-so. English speakers are in fine shape, and the packaging has everything in French, and the movies all have French soundtracks. But if you want French subtitles, you are out of luck. Not a single one of the movies has French subtitles. Whaaat? No French people are hard of hearing? Or they are required to learn to read English, Spanish or even Portuguese? Does not seem truly bilingual to me.
