Okay, nicely printed but seems to rehash what is already out there. Not as helpful to collectors as it could be.
Substantial book on M1 Garand. Clear pictures. Reasonably well written. I'm no expert on the M1, but it seems this book doesn't add any new information on parts or history, it simply repackages it into a nice format (pictures on this are WAY better than the grainy ones in Duff's books). It is not as complete as I'd like : the section on post-war M1D snipers doesn't mention the DCM lottery guns or provide pictures of the documentation for these guns -- stuff that would be useful to collectors. This book is okay, well printed and a nice addition to a library but falls short of adding much in the way of new information as far as I can tell. I would have liked the book to be more geared toward collectors ("here is what to watch out for" rather than a dumpload of reprinted technical specifications which are mainly filler in my opinion.

The premier book on the M1 Garand story!
A very thorough book, well researched and clearly presented text material! Very well-done photographs show many details for this fine old rifle. Highly recommended for any military historian or collector. Especially useful for collectors of the US Rifle, Cal 30 M1. Well worth the price!

Great History of the Weapon that Won WWII
This is must read for anyone interested in the M1 Garand Rifle. Well illustrated and interesting it is the most extensive book written on the "greatest battle implement of WWII. A must for any library of American military weapons. I truly enjoyed it.

The definitive source for the M1 Garand
I have his book The M1 Garand and M1 Carbine. It is a great reference. The M1 Garand Rifle adds another level of depth for the Garand. Our store library is now complete for the Garand.

GARAND BOOK - Canfield
This is the most thorough book available for the M1 Garand. If you are seriously interested in the Garand, this is the book for you. It is not cheap, but it is worth it. Do no drop it on your foot. It will hurt.

Awesome Reading and very informative
This Book goes in detail not only about the Garand but also the other rifles leading up to the M1 Garand And there it designers And the Events that took place.
