Pricey but well worth it
I bought this to re-thread the sub frame on my motorbike after one of the bolts I remove regularly stripped the aluminium thread out. At a fifth of the price of a new sub frame, it was definitely worth the purchase, and after watching a couple of youtube videos on how to use it properly I set about doing the job myself.
The first thing I noticed was that it didn't come with any kind of handle or adapter to be able to use the 'bits'. Nipped to Halfords and bought a tap and die kit, which had the perfect tool for it. I didn't mind, as I'd been toying with getting one of these anyway, but worth noting that unless you have an adapter for both of the different sized square ends, you'll also need to budget for that too.
Once I had the adapter, it took no more than five minutes to drill, re-thread and apply the time sert in the newly threaded hole. Looks a proper job, and is probably now stronger than before too, so I'm well pleased. I also have four M6 thread inserts left over, so if the other side goes, I know I have what I need to sort it.
So in summary, I would definitely recommend this product, as I said in the title, it is quite pricey considering it's only for one size of thread, but it is without a doubt worth every single penny.
