A great story if you have the patience to wait for it amid way too much other subject matter.
Despite the title one has to wade through far too much extraneous military history to get to the last third of the book which (finally) deals with the subject. It is a fascinating story, but one gets the impression that he needed a lot of 'fill" to tell the story. Then too, the book is printed on semi-gloss stock which necessitates constantly shifting the book to get rid of glare.
