Captivating read based on factual history
I enjoyed reading this book so much a few years ago, that I wanted to read it again and own this handsome hardback edition

Gets into the guts of how Alaska developed.
Very long book with many details and historical facts that you will not find elsewhere. A family member read this a long time ago and has reread the book again after visiting Alaska. Loved it more the second time around.

Great book !
Bought it for a gift for a person who once had this book. It had gotten misplaced/ lost between loaning it out and moving around. He wanted to read it again, so I decided to just buy him another book.

Living the story
After spending more than a half century here it is great to visualize how it all began. Michener put it together in a way that is fitting for Alaska.
