Second HHD cable for HP Laptop
This cable/caddy works for adding a second hard disk drive into my HP ENVY 17 laptop. It came with easy to follow instructions to insert the cable/caddy and hard drive into the laptop. The most difficult process was getting my operating system to recognize the new hard drive. After looking out on the Internet, I was able to find directions on how to do this. Please note, this is different for each operating system (Windows xp/7/8/10, etc.). Once installed and operational, the second HDD gets assigned another hard disk identifier (example F:, the next available designator is automatically chosen) and you access it via this new drive identifier. You can also modify the device designators within your operating system to change the assigned designators for your devices (use help or Internet to find directions on how to change device designators/identifiers/drive letters). Please pay attention to the model numbers of your laptop and cable/caddy. They must match. This cable/caddy is NOT a universal part that will work across all model laptops. You also need to check your laptop to determine if it has a bay for a second HDD. If it doesn't, your only choice is to use an external HDD.Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Neu
