What is says on the tin - an utterly reliable NAS drive
Performance isn't the greatest although it's not bad but this drive is designed for NAS use 24 hours a day and it does that job with total reliability. I have had 5 of these disks in my NAS now for 2 years and had no failures at all. Prior to that I used (brand new) Seagate Barracudas, every one of them failed within 2 years - a 100% failure rate - so now I only buy WD Red for NAS use and I will never again buy a Seagate disk.Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Neu

Use this disk for Building a NAS server
I have built a NAS server using Freenas, an HP microserver and now 4 WD40EFRX, configured as (in raid terms) a striped Raid configuration. 4 * 4TB delivers 12 TB storage. All works well and quietly in the background - its not even housed in the main house to avoid the obvious problem of all in the same place, so the quiet assessment is a little tongue in cheek - id only know if they were REALLY noisy. eliable fast drives.

HDD Upgrade
