Works perfectly.
Installed this on a 2000 Kawasaki Vulcan Nomad 1500 FI. Installation is extremely simple, even more so if you have previous 12v / electrical wiring experience. The instructions provided are clear and easy to follow. I chose the 5 flash then steady mode. The most difficult part of installation is locating the correct brake / run wires on your bike. Once you have that, it's a 10 minute job, and in my case, most of that was spent hunting for a bottle of rubbing alcohol to clean off the mounting location. The unit fit easily under the seat, making the whole thing effectively "NO-profile". My only negative comment would be that in order to change between modes, one has to physically re-wire the brake line to the other output wire of the unit. It would be nice if this could be accomplished with a dip switch or similar. But in my case this isn't that big of a deal. My bike's brake / run wires u comes factory with bullet connectors easily accessible right under the seat. I soldered matching-sized bullets on the BackOff's output wires, so all I have to do is unplug and plug back in to the other mode wire. If your bike isn't equipped with bullets here, I highly recommend installing some. They'll make testing and changing modes 10X easier. As for its effect on other drivers - hard to say, although my riding buddy noticed it immediately. I can say that it seems as if people are seeing and reacting to it properly. In instances where I'm already stopped, and I see traffic approaching in the mirrors, a purposeful squeeze or two of the brake lever almost always results in the approaching vehicle seeming to slow sooner, and definitely leaving a significantly larger gap between us. One of 2 "must-haves" on your motorcycle.
On today's roads, motorcycles need all the additional safety measures they can afford. Rider aids like ABS, Traction Control, riding modes, are each great additions to modern motorcycles but every bike needs more, IMO. At a minimum, I believe every bike on the road needs additional visual and auditory signals to the distracted, smartphone addicted cage (car) drivers. The Backoff XP flashes the brake likes when the brakes are applied and increases the odds that the driver behind you sees you slowing down. This is the second one I've installed on my bikes and I won't have a street bike without one. Also a great aid on group rides because some riders aren't much more attentive than car drivers. Best safety mod for your motorcycle
This invention saves lives. It's very easy to install and works great. Nothing really more to add than what's already been said. However, I will say I wish the ground wire was a bit longer and had a grounding-ring terminal. CAN Bus compliant, easy to install. A solid performer!
My fav for this application. This tiny, easy to install, and time proven device Is right at home with BMW's pesky CAN Bus system. This is my 4th or 5th Signal Dynamics installation and they have never hiccupped or failed. Add one to protect your rear.
I've put these on a number of big bikes over the years. They add that extra noticeability to the rear as you apply your brakes to help warn drivers behind you. A simple wiring splice gives you two modes to choose from for brake light flashing sequences. I had one fail many years ago and Signal Dynamics immediately replaced it with a new one at no charge. Installing one of these will give you a bit more safety from a rear-end collision AND you can manually operate the flashing effect with your brake lever to warn approaching traffic from your rear.Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Neu

Solder and Shrink
I tried using the automotive electrical "snap connectors" but abandoned that effort after having a bad connection,somewhere. I than solder and used shrink tube and had no issue whatsoever. It works exactly as described. I used this on my 2012 focus hatchback and had to pull my spoiler to modify for secure fitment of the BO. Reinstalled the spoiler with BO attached and than soldered and shrink tubed the wires. After a while you forget it is there. However it seems as though drivers don't follow me as close. Safety upgrade

Valuable Safety Addition!
I had the Back Off XP Brake Light Modulator installed on my 2008 Suzuki Boulevard C 90 motorcycle. It replaces a Back Off Modulator I previously had on the bike that simply had worn out. The install was done by the shop that performs all of the maintenance on my bike. The Back Off Modulator works as advertised, flashing the rear brake light 3 times when applied. I hope with this install riding my motorcycle will be a bit safer by alerting other drivers when I apply the brakes in order to stop. S. M. Great upgrade to your motorcycle
