Good Entertainment
I have watched this movie many times so I already knew the content. It is a lighter weight version of the Christmas Carol story, but it for me is still entertaining. I have been replacing my old VCR recorded movies with DVDs as they are wearing out. The disc came in very good condition.

A Christmas Ghost Story...
You can't have Christmas without a visit with Scrooge and his spirit friends, just can't do it. Amongst the classic versions, this one stands out as one of the best adaptations of Charles Dickens wonderful holiday ghost story. The Christmas Carol is a tale of redemption and love, it's message is something all should be aware of, especially during the holiday if not all the year long. Just as a side note, the automatic review editor software said the authors last name was pottymouth talk, I think somebody needs to look into their filters and the settings; just saying.

Best film version of this Christmas classic.
The 1938 Reginald Owen version of A Christmas Carol is my favorite version. It has a great cast. It's impossible not to love Reginald Owens as Scrooge. He has a twinkle in his eye. The movie also benefits from being a bit shorter, as the plot points zip along in this well loved, familiar favorite.

My favorite thing to watch...EVER!
A Christmas Carol is the greatest holiday story ever told! I Love pretty much every version. The only down side is that I can’t find a life mate who will watch these movies with me, twice a day, every single day of our lives!! Lol. But seriously, I’ve lost several relationships because of this. So instead, i will watch these movies all of the time......by myself. Alone. I also very much enjoyed Gene Lockhart’s performance as Bob Cratchit.

Hard to find version of a Christmas Carol
It was nice to be able to find this particular version of a Christmas Carol. 1934 was the best. However my only complaint is that the item description says there is a "scratch" on the back UPC. The "scratch" extends through the entire box. It's a cut through the outter DVD plastic, artwork, and the plastic box itself. Looks like a box cutter perhaps? Didnt damage the dvd, but gave this as a gift. Would have liked to have known it was a cut through the box, not a scratch. For a hard to find dvd, and the person isn't a stickler of a collector, it was ok. Shipping was quick, especially during the holidays. Definitely worth it overall.

I've watched it on tv it's the best one made even in black and white the one with Reginal Owens is the best I haven't seen it on the dvd I keep most of them in there cases but most of them look like there new packages so I hope there fine I will wait till I'm ready to open them and some day thanks

WONDERFUL OLE-TIME STORY!
Awesome ORIGINAL version of this classic Christmas story. Especially recommend this version to older people who would appreciate the story set is a time when many modern things like electricity, gas-powered vehicles, etc. were not yet in existence and the film is was done in B/W.

Great DVD
It's the ORIGINAL SCROOGE MOVIE I ONLY SEEN IT ONCE ON TV IN THE 70s. But never forgot it I HAVE SEEN OTHER VERSION BUT THIS IS THE ORIGINAL & BEST NO SOUND ON DVD BUT HAS SUBTITLES IM HEARING IMPAIRED AND CAN'T HEAR THE WORDS NO WAY I HAVE TO READ WHAT THEY SAY IT'S EXTREMELY RARE FOR DVDS THIS OLD TO HAVE SUBTITLES UNFORTUNATELY

Great movie withlearning the values of life & helping others.
This is one of the best old classical Christmas stories. Cannot say anything against this movie. Great characters & a great story..
