It works.
If you have a 240 Volt GE Advantium oven and one of the Halogen Heater lamps dies, this is what you need to fix it. It works and is reasonably priced considering it includes the two bulbs installed in a lamp housing, so once you get the oven opened up, it's a quick plug-n-play. But there's the rub--the oven design is really stupid in that you can't simply remove the glass panel inside the oven which covers the bulbs (one screw), pop out the bad bulb and pop a new one in. The point where the wires plug into each end of the bulb is not accessible from inside the oven, so first you have to remove the oven from the wall, then remove the the lid which covers the top and sides of the oven, remove a metal shroud which is over the lamp housing (which is held on by screws and metal tabs you must unbend), then remove the old lamp housing (which is also held on by screws and metal tabs you must unbend). You also need to remove a few more screws so you can carefully move the blower out of the way to remove a bracket which mounts the thermal protection switches to the new lamp housing. It takes a long time and there around 30 screws you have to remove and put back (and they are not all the same, so you need to pay attention which screw goes where). All I can say is, it's a good thing this part isn't terribly expensive because unless you replace it yourself, it's already going to cost you a fortune in labor charges. We love our Advantium oven, but I think it's ridiculous you can't just buy a new bulb and plug it in from inside the oven. I guess they expect these bulbs to last the life of the oven, but if they don't, it is mind-boggling how much effort you have to go through to replace one of them and, of course, you're paying for two bulbs and a new metal bulb housing instead of just a single bulb.Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Neu
