Make your coin collection more interesting with the 1887-S one dollar coin. As part of the Morgan Dollars series that ran from 1878-1921, this coin was designed by George T. Morgan. The obverse side features Lady Liberty, while the reverse side has an eagle on it. While eagles usually look powerful and robust, this one is scrawny, causing some to refer to the Morgan Dollar as the buzzard dollar. This coin contains 90-percent silver and 10-percent copper and weighs 26.73 grams. It is 38.10 milliliters in diameter and has a reeded edge. While the coin's bank value is one dollar, it is worth more due to its age and precious metal content.
