No school like the old school- best sharpener ever.
Bombproof, heavy duty metal construction. Powerful motor. Sharpens pencils to a wicked point in seconds. Push pencil in until it stops moving forward. Done. Will eat up a new flat ended pencil like a tree chipper on Nitrox !! Best sharpener I have ever used. One of these serendipitously fell into my work bag. They were slinging a bunch of stuff from some old offices next to where I work into dumpsters. Getting a second so my kids will know the liberating joy of old-school machines that are built to work precisely AND last a lifetime. Good Quality - fast sharpening
I've had one of these for years at home. When I wanted one from work I asked our purchasing department to buy me one. It was a name branded with the "big box" store name. It was slow and took too long to sharpen a new pencil - probably a minute. I gave it back to my purchasing person and said "I'll buy my own" and bring it into the office. I'm thinking about buying another one for my garage.

Works better than any of the new ones.
I have had one of these sharpeners for years and have never found another one that works as well. I found this one on eBay at a reasonable price and decided to take a chance. It works as well as my original sharpener so now I have a backup in case the original eventually fails (I don’t expect to be any time soon).

Not sharpening pencils as well as it should.
It is not sharpening my pencils as well as it should. It is a great machine, but perhaps the blades on this used one were too worn. It is also very noisy, so that is why I think it is probably not in the best of shape. I may just buy another one to see if I can get a better result. They don't make these anymore and they are the best for sharpening pastel pencils.

Classic pencil sharpener
I have owned one of these pencil sharpeners for 30 years. I was delighted to find another one for my office, as I still use wooden pencils daily, and a good pencil sharpener is essential.

Great find for an artist.
Great sharpener. The older ones like these are the best. I've been looking for one of these for ever. It was in great condition and at a great price.

Panasonic Pencil Sharpener Electric KP-77S Vintage Woodgrain Tested Auto-Stop
Best iteration of the cutters and with a metal housing riveted together, no less than 8 screws assembling it from bottom, clearly built to last. One of the few sharpeners that will sharpen a General Charcoal 6B or Prismacolor Charcoal Soft no problem. That is saying a lot.

Great old pencil sharpener
The old style have the bigger AC motors that can handle a classrooms worth of pencil in a few minutes. Any of the newer models most likely are weaker dc motors. If you attended school in any US city in the last 30 years it is the same one you used and loved.
