HERE is how to make it LAST, and FIX your dead ones - DON'T throw them away
This is a great monitor, BUT as many have noted it won't handle much power without killing it. The reason for this is that the manufacturer used a fuse that is THERMAL as well as 15A rated, and the temp on the factory fuse is only about 100 degrees... so if it gets even the tiniest bit warm, it blows. SO... replace that fuse, with THIS ONE that is the same but rated @ 240 degrees, and you have a unit that will last.

I did it a little easier than unsoldering the old fuse off the circuit board, partly because it will make it much easier to replace the fuse in the future should you ever need to - I simply cut the old fuse out, leaving the leads extending up from the PCB, and bent the leads on the new fuse to overlap the old leads by 1/4" or so, and soldered them in place. It makes an easy repair, and works really well.
I am using 2 killawatt meters with some adapters, 1 on each leg of my 50A RV power cord, and I run 2 6000btu window ACs around the clock, the refrigerator on electricity, 3 computers, HEPA filter, power tool chargers, and the electric element in my AquaHot hot water heater, and I have not had any issues at all since replacing the fuses.
With this repair made, it's a 5-star product. Otherwise, it is poorly executed in its stock form...
