Not too bad for the price
I bought this speaker system to put in my garage, so i can plug my phone into it and listen to music while i work. The sound quality is pretty good when the volume is between 1 and 60%, but the satellite speakers distort when you turn them up any higher, but hey... they were less than 25 bucks... I wasn't expecting it to sound like a bose. PROS: Price. Sound good for the price range. Easy to hook up. CONS: The wiring. Speaker wires could be at least twice as long as they are. (had to buy 2 Stereo 3.5mm audio extension cables just so i could place the sub woofer anywhere but right on top of my work bench.) Overall: Not a bad deal. All together with the extension cables i still have less that 35 dollars into this setup. And it does exactly what i need. I don't need it to shake the whole house. Just some tunes to liisten to while i'm tinkering in the garage... This system does the trick just fine.

Cheap speakers for your computer
Pros: cheap. Easy to use/connect. Plugs are better that using usb sometimes. Refurbished looked like new. Volumes control and earphone connector separate from speakers so you can put away or have close to you. No need for earphone extension cable. Cons: no separate volume control for subwoofer. No treble or bass level control. Sound is biased to low range frequency. Treble is almost non audible. Perhaps my refurbished item alone have that problem. Or it might be normal for the item and my was returned for that reason.

Inexpensive PC speakers
First impression- too much Bass and no way to turn it down. There are no adjustments to the sound of these speakers. While overall the sound quality is good enough, considering the price, when cranked up to near maximum the Bass takes over and dominates the sound. If you like boom boom boom it's okay. However, with a little experimenting I found that if I turn down the computers sound level (50%) and use only the speakers volume control it was better. Better but still not good. I noted that the Bass speaker was on the very bottom of the box (and in fact exposed) and that I was setting it on a very hard tile floor. Hmm. I cut a piece of black foam packing material I had laying around just a bit larger than the box and slipped it under the speaker. Much better, a little sound absorbing material under the speaker really helped. Sound quality now is good considering the price of the units. One welcome improvement would be at least a simple tone control found on other speakers. The two Tweeter speakers work quite well, they have good sound quality and when the Bass isn't drowning them out are quite pleasant listening. I would have to say that after my tweeks is when their quality really showed up. I will recommend these speakers and caution the buyer that you may need to be aware of how and where you set them up. Or, if you like a lot of Bass- these may be what your looking for.

You can do much better
I have many brands of desk top speaker systems over the past 15 years. From Altec Lansing, JBL and Harmon Kardon. This system is at best fair in audio quality. Even my co-workers who are not audiophiles noticed a qualitative difference. This is in addition to the fact that the Altec Lansing was operating on one speaker and a sub woofer. A channel had blown, and I decided to replace the old system. Yet even with one speaker, the quality was better in Altec Lansing. Given the price, while modest, I could have bought a good used system that sounds better. Upper range is flat, base pretty underwhelming. It sounds like a budget system (which in fairness it is a budget price), but I have bought other systems used in the same range of price and all three systems (I mentioned prior, Altec Lansing was the only one with a stand alone sub-woofer, jbl and Harmon Kardon did not) far outperformed this system. You can do better...

Bang For Your Buck
I use these speakers in conjunction with a chromecast audio and the set up is perfect. The speakers only costing $30 and the chromecast being $35 makes this a cheaper alternative to hifi speakers. It's very simple and the sound quality is very good too and the base is great on these things. I would recommend this setup to anyone looking to get some speakers but you don't have a lot money you want to spend.

A lot for a little money spent
This is a great budget speaker setup. What you get for the price is amazing. Is this going to be the end all system for you? No. But if you're cash strapped and just want to enjoy your games and movies a little more, this is for you. The bass isn't earth shattering but does have pretty decent range. The satellite speakers are clear. You don't get great mid range but like I said, it's still a lot for the price. This is something I would recommend for the struggling student, kids, or someone who just doesn't want to sink money into an expensive set just yet.

Best Little Speaker System EVER for the price!!!
This is about the fourth time I've purchased this exact product. The reason? I hooked up one to the TV in the playhouse to have much better sound than with the TV alone. I also hooked one up to my TV in the basement in the playroom, to have much better sound. I have sound bars on my two main TVs. I first got the idea because my boss had this speaker system on the computer at work and it sounded so good that I thought I would try it for my tv and computer purposes. Is this a $2,000 sound system? No, but it sounds pretty darned good if you want better sound than a TV offers for a computer. This most recent purchase was for a computer at work that is in the showroom. I set it up which is VERY easy and then turned on Pandora free music and the sound is great in the entire 5,000 showroom. I was delighted that this system with woofer was still available. I LOVE it!!! It is versatile and sounds great. Target wanted about $60 but this vender on Ebay was half that and I had it in my hot little hands in only a few days. Pleased!!!!!

Use for a full- time TV soundbar or part-time audio system
Outperforms anything in its class. Although it does not allow for independent adjustment of bass and treble, don't let this steer you away. The sound quality is really excellent and it certainly does WAY BETTER than traditional sound bars, without a doubt. I use this unit later at night when I don't want to run my full 7.1 audio system. Super clear voice and excellent bass-mids-highs. I liked the first one so much I purchased another as a spare. Notes: 1. the audio input cable has a 3.5mm Male plug so, if you purchase this unit, you may need to order an adapter cable on eBay depending upon what you are trying to hook up to. 2. The bass output (as with similar designs) from the main unit can change dramatically depending upon where you position it. Mounted on the floor next to a wall gave me lots of bass... moving it up onto an end-table gave less so move your base unit around a bit to fine tune for your environment. 3. I like the audio control because you can set the audio level then turn the unit on-off with a push button switch on the same control. This means you can leave the audio set in one place. 4. Lots of manufactures expose the sub-woofer speaker out of the bottom of the main unit where it can be damaged. This unit has that same design so be careful when you handle it so you don't put a finger through it. As I say, this is a common design used by many different manufactures and, as long as you are careful you will be fine. I would buy again in a heartbeat.

Excellent Product!!
This is an absolutely incredible product for the price!!! Would 100% recommend because the sound quality as actual great, especially considering that it is around $20. The only reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 is because my right speaker has a tendency to fluctuate a little on high keys but is fine on lower keys

Big Cluck, Small Buck
I bought these as my second set (connected via bluetooth to my tablet) for use in in my exercise room - my first pair (purchased in 2010 !!!) is connected to my desktop pc. That's an indication of how much I like these speakers. Although not in their original packaging, they arrived well protected and in perfect cosmetic condition. The sound quality is well above average for a product of this type - the highs and mids are smooth and integrate perfectly with the surprisingly robust and deep bass. They perform equally well with music and movies - even at higher volume. The corded power/volume/headphone jack is a nice addition. It put the mechanics of the set close at hand and easily accessible. I have no problems with the fact that this set is refurbished by the manufacturer. In fact, I prefer refurbished products when I can get them because I know that they have been individually tested before being resold, unlike the majority of the production of which only a small sample is inspected. Neither does the limited 90 day warranty give me concern - after all, my original purchase of these speakers was 6 years ago and they are still performing as well as they did since day I hooked them up.
