Best quality level is Starrett, Best price is on ebay!
For my machine shop, I try to buy value especially in tools and tooling. So I research each piece as the need for it arises. Sometimes HHIP or SHARS have excellent value, meaning fairly high quality at an excellent price. But sometimes the accuracy and strength needed is significant enough to buy the best - whether it be German, English, American, or Japanese. This machinist level by Starrett is simply the best.
